✪ Coral Sea History ✪
August 22, 1965 - CORAL SEA responded to the call for Naval Air support of Army troops in the I Corps area south of the DMZ. This was the only time during six combat cruises that the ship left its position on Yamkee Station for patrol on Dixie Station.
August 22, 1969 - USS Coral Sea collides with a tug and a Navy barge in San Francisco Bay, injuring one barge crewman.

1990 - An aerial view of the decommissioned USS Coral Sea tied up at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Membership to the USS CORAL SEA CVA-43 ASSOCIATION is open to all Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force personnel who served aboard the ship USS CORAL SEA (CV/CVB/CVA-43).
